Stargazer By Niki Sangra

Kiren Niki Sangra's latest body of work explores the use of graphite on wood with pops of neon color as a new way to illustrate a selection of constellations. Along with these are small embroideries used to illustrate certain constellations. The collection combines the artists' interests of drawing color, animals and ornamentation with a love of the natural world.

Sangra's art is whimsical, playful, fun and always leaves you with a sense of wonder. She currently has her art practice in Grande Prairie, Alberta and also works at the Centre for Creative Arts in Grande Prairie as their Creative Operations Coordinator.

All the work was created in July and August 2013, using graphite (pencil) and acrylic paint on wood panel. The smaller pieces are embroidery and acrylic on pencil.
